Hi I'm a plumber by trade and have been asked to move a soil stack from the rear of the house to the side elevation (New conservatory planned for rear and would include stack and all waste outlets). To the side of the house is an inspection chamber, plastic approx 5 feet deep with plastic riser and chamber base. However where the new stack is planned for there is no inlet into the chamber. How difficult is it to remove the inspection chamber and base and fit new base with appropriate inlets and outlet. Surrounding area is paving slabs, chamber approx 2 feet from house?

In theory, it's not too difficult, but will you be able to get a replacement base with suitable inlets? All of the 100/100mm units have 5 inlets arranged in the same manner, so installing a new base might not be the answer.

I'd be tempted to install a new 300mm dia Access Chamber on one of the existing lines. It'd probably be cheaper than replacing the exising IC, and a lot less work as it would involve interfering with only one line instead of several, and it could be positioned exactly where required.
