Hi. I'm trying to design a an in situ concrete walkway by a stream for a college project. I know very little about concrete so am hoping someone can give me some advice. The British Standards have frankly confused the hell out of me so 'd be grateful if someone out there can give me some straightforward answers!

Should I use Pav 1 concrete? What does this actually mean? i.e what ratios of cement etc does this contain?
What about expansion joints? How far should they be spaced?
What about where concrete is by water? Are there any admixtures needed? I've probably forgotten a lot of other questions but any help is gratefully accepted

For information the type of thing I'm going for has been used at Anchor Park in Malmo, Sweden. A link with some images is attached http://www.sla.dk/byrum/ankargb.htm

Thanks in advance!

seek and ye shall find
none of us here are architects or structural engineers so we cannot advise on the structural part of the walkway

That shuttering must have been a bit tricky :)
