I read somewhere that a brick bond was not recommended with porcelain paving? A 20% stagger was recommended, I think.
Anyone know why this is?

Is that with one of the cheaper brand ceramics, the one with issues of flatness and bowing, so they steer installers away from stretcher bond, which would highlight the problem with the poor manufacturing, and attempt to persuade customers that a 150mm stagger bond is more appropriate, particularly as it makes the bent bloody flags harder to spot.? That one?
