Hi,
Id really like some opninons to reassure me Im doing the right thing.

Ive a 30+m2 patio Im nearly finished laying. Mid Grey concrete formed riven slabs.
They were old stock so have a bit of lichen on. Im goingto sand/cement the joints - hopefully with cement dye (to help continuity of colour, but I havent learnt about that yet).

My Plan -
Im about to clean the lichen off (Ive found a cleaner that works)
Then Ill seal it (Ive bought No Nonsense sealant from screwfix)
THEN Ill grout it (so any spillage, especially if its dyed shouldn't stick so readily to my slabs).

Im now sat worrying that the mortar wont stick to the slabs because of the slippery sides (sealer)
It will be ok wont it?

Thanks

I
RR

Why oh why oh why are you using a sealant with old stock concrete flags?

If you must have the sealant, then get the paving jointed FIRST ( a good wet slurry grout properly applied will NOT stain) and then throw away good money by using a sealant once the mortar has had at least a week to cure.

And that sealer you have bought will last about 3 months, total rubbish.
