Hi, thanks in advance for any help anyone can provide.

I'm looking to lay some slate patio slabs (25-30mm). I've looked at the advise of using a type IV mortar mix. Should I use building sand or sharp sand?

always sharp IE grit sand for flags or slabs
and I personally would use 5:1 with 100ml of SBR in every mix and prime the back of the slate flags
cheers LLL :)
