Slate paving - Pooling??

Well.....the builder is right that slate is a natural material, but he's also less than honest because, had the paving been laid with adequate fall, there would be NO poooling at all.
If you have access to a spirit level, you can check for yourself, but I suspect you are now going to have a battle with this clown who doesn't even seem to be aware that ALL conventional paving, and that includes slate and all other "natural materials", must be laid with fall towards a suitable drainage point.
