Hello
Has anybody laid Flags / Slabs over these plastic ground bearing cellular grids / eco grids?

My daughter is having a summer house then paving then artificial grass. The summerhouse and grass will be sitting on the plastic grids so if the flags are laid over the plastic grids then it will standardise the whole layout and make it easier to get levels right etc.

The flags are vitrified porcelain plank slabs, size - 1200mm x 400mm x 20mm.

I was thinking of filling the plastic grid cells with a wet mortar mix then bedding the flags onto the grid / mortar mix.

Anybody done the same / similar?

Anybody got any thoughts, comments. better ideas or warnings re any of above??

I've now thought of another way I'm probably going to do it ... apply 'no more naiis' or some other gun applied adhesive to the top edges of the ground grids and then bed the slab on.

Each plank / slab is 18 kg so I reckon it not need much holding power to keep the slab securely in place!?

Surely somebody has some thoughts ... good, bad or just thought provoking?

I haven't heard of that being done, or tried it. Personally i woukd run a cutter through your intended area and take it out, form a sub base, bedding layer and lay your slabs. But if you where to try then you could always keep us posted on the outcome :;):

If Yes, then I am taking existing turf out.

I will let you know how I get on with my crazy idea!

Meant the grid system, yes you will have to take out the turf you can't lay flags/ slabs on that.
