I'm refurbishing the patio in the image [image location has a https prefix not http so won't load?] which uses a well profiled Stonemarket slab.
Due to time and ease of use I'd like to use a resin based mortar and would be grateful for views on the following:
1. A recent post by Tony McC stated ‘Avoid any one-part product, they don't last and they fall apart under a pressure washer. Use ONLY a quality two-part resin mortar’. Does this refer to use in a commercial application?
2. Is this type of slab, which has 7 years of weathering, suitable for use with a resin mortar?
3. Other posts on this site refer to rubbish and good quality resin mortars; Jointex and VDW 840+ are frequently mentioned and are used for the case studies, is it safe to assume that these are good quality?
4. The https://jointingmortaruk.com site has Jointex Easy, Rompex Easy and EASYJoint I've had a look but can't find what the differences are between these products, can anyone explain, which is most suitable for my job?
5. Amount required - this may seem like a daft question but is it safe to assume that if I dig 2 x 10l buckets worth of old mortar from the patio then I'll need a similar quantity of resin mortar to do the job?
Many thanks for a superb resource.
