Hi There,

I have a buff yellow, riven paved patio, which I was going to rip up and replace with a poured concrete acid stained area, with grout lines ground out. The reasons for replacement are the base was never laid properly and the resultant surface collects water and moss, there was never a proper run off etc. The reasons for the poured concrete replacement are that I like the low maintenance, long life hard wearing surface, I like the look and I think it will be cheaper.
But it only occurred to me today, that I am going to have to re-do the base which if I can alter the colour of the pavers would solve a lot of my issues with it.
So my question, is there anyway to lighten the surface of what looks to be quite a yellow possibly dyed concrete paver? So that I could lift and relay the base before relaying the stones correctly?

Thanks loads,
Sam

PIC rarely looks good for long
hard to say on your patio without photos
you could give it a good clean but if water sits on it really needs to come up and be relaid to proper levels

Cheers Luton,

Thanks for your reply. My parents had a poured concrete surface, that looked like terracotta tiles for years before it cracked, and I wouldn't have trusted the guys that did that with making a sandwich. What can go wrong?

I'll post some pics when I get home. It definitely needs relaid, I have taken one out and replaced it with a rubber filler to allow the big pool it creates to drain.
