I have have a concrete driveway and path which has seen better days;

What is the most cost-effective thing I can do to tidy it up? I really just want something which can go over the top to hide the joins and generally make it all look nice without digging it all up.. Can I just tarmac over concrete?

I particularly like the idea of gravel set in resin, but expect that is expensive, and again can it be layed straight over the top of concrete?

I would be grateful for any suggestions.

Thank you

there are people out there who will do a 25 mm top coat of tarmac on top of concrete but it is NOT recommended
as for resin bonded gravel ,it aint cheap and all those cracks and undulations will show up
cheapest way is probably to paint it with a propriety concrete paint,other than that dig it out and replace with type 1 and gravel
its all about budget really and if your budget is very slim it will be tough

Agree with LLL - it will look horrible with tarmac. If the concrete is cracked, the tar will crack in a matter of months, weeks.

There really is no cheap, quick fix I'm afraid. As LLL has said, break up concrete, dig out, add a sub-base and then gravel.......

...but if he'd read any of the main website, the OP would have realised this before posting here!
