Attached images show our granite which was laid 10 years ago.

As you can see from photos it's had it's fair share of abuse barbacue fat, furniture oil, sun cream, beer, wine etc etc and now it looks crap !!

Tried everything from 2000 psi hot steam washers, to electric rotating wire brushes to freshen it up but nothing seems to work due to the fact that its so hard and also being flamed the surface is rough.

Thinking it made need some form of aggressive shot blasting to physically abrade and remove a small amount of the top surface ?

Anyone got any ideas what may work or who could sort it ?

Not fussed if the process rips out the pointing as can easy get that redone.

Have you tried any of the commercial cleaning products, such as Extra KT or Grundreiniger? They are a cheaper first option before splashing out on expensive shot or soda blasting.

Grundreiniger had no effect whatsoever !!!

Tried it at 1:1, 1:10, 1:20 and 1:50 ratios with warm water and then worked it in with scrubbing brush, before rinsing... when dry you could not distinguish which slabs had been done and which had not.

So what about the Extra KT? Grundreiniger is better on general dirt, but the KT works on fats and greases.

The Extra KT might/should be able to handle the grease/fat spots, but does depend how long they have been on the surface for though, As for Grundreinger, I've tried it and not that impressed if being honest, have you tried my mix on the stain removals page? It will remove more dirt and get a better finish then some named brands. Perfectly safe on granite.

The Grundreiniger is, in my experience, great at removing surface dirt and basic, simple stains, but it's not great with fats/greases/oils or with hard stains, such as tannins or berries.
