So I have come to know a lady on our local FB group.

To cut a story shorter, she bought the slabs and a chap came and laid them, in doing so he left a lot of cement on the slabs, cement which I could easily have removed (In hindsight).

Instead he used acid which removed the top layer then attempted to dye it with a powder. He then went on to use masonry paint to cover his errors, not any masonry paint either. Bright pink!

Does anyone have any solutions other than mine that you simply have to start again?

This is a brand new week old patio and it was paid for during the process.

It's not much of a laugh for her though.

You couldn't make something like this if you tried.

Might as well laugh though, I did, then I think I cried and was sick in my mouth.

Didn't mean it literally. I think we all know what you have to do. Who was the contractor? Name and shame.

Why!? Who? What the…?
Looks like the Chuckle Brothers and Mr Blobby have gone into business together laying patios.
These should be lifted……and dumped in the front garden of the clown that laid them.
God only knows what you’ll find under them when you lift them, I expect they’ve been laid on Play Doh.

Hope you get it all sorted and the customer gets some sort of refund from the original contractor.

Wear dark glasses when taking them up and launching them into a skip.
