Hi guys,

I am a novice at this and this is the very first time I have laid a patio. I have laid 22mm Marshalls Aluri limestone slabs (some 860x560, some 560x560) on approx. 30-50mm 4-1 cement and 75mm aggregate. I finished laying all this on Sunday and plan to joint/grout the slabs tomorrow morning.

While cutting the grass last night, I stood on one of the 560x560 slabs and it has a very slight rock from corner to corner diagonally. It does appear to be very minor, although I didn't want to really rock it to damage it further.

Do I need to take this back up and relay it, or will it be okay to just joint/grout to hold it? I am using something like Marshalls weather 365 (or something similar) to infill the gaps?

Thanks for your help in advanced.
Shane.

Sorry but you need to lift and relay. There should be zero movement and if you leave it the movement will cause the pointing to fail prematurely.

sounds like the mix was too dry
there should be zero movement on any flags /slabs

Cool I have just taken it up, broke out the cement and relaid it. Must say it took a lot of effort to hammer and chisel the cement out. Better to be safe than sorry. Thanks guys.
