Hi guys, I am taking delivery of some Indian sandstone soon, Now what i plan to do is to clean and seal these slabs before i lay them, That way i can keep them clean as i lay them and wipe down any cement that happens on the surface, once i have layed them i can point up the joints and hopefully keep the edges clean of excess pointing cement, leave to dry and then re-seal therefore eliminating any staining on the stone itself. Has anyone done it this way before and how did you get on with this method. Thanks

Hello Gary

Sounds like you have done your homework and thought it all through. A few questions worth consideration:

1. What is the exact stone type?
2. What sealant are you using?
3. What are you planning to point with?
4. How wide are your pointing gaps'
