Just wacked about 4" of type 1 for a shed base.

There are quite a few spots where there are large rocks (40mm Max) with no small rocks grading down to get a toght base. Mainly round the perimeter.

Is there anything I can use to fill these gaps?

Unless I sift through the type 1 and get the small stuff out?

Also, I've been browsing through the website, which is fantastic but it is so extensive that in struggling to find an answer.

I have some cheapo 450mm slabs I would like to lay- what ratio sand cement should I use. I have a load of sharp sand already here and some dust. I'd like to use a wet mix because I'm use to that as part of my tiling background.

Many thanks for any replies and hats off to the Admin here as it's an incredibly informative site.

Fill gaps with sharp sand. Mix for paving about 6-1 sharp sand and cement.

Perfect, thanks. Make sense to use sharp sand.

I've just got the area flat within +- 2mm over 3.5m so I'm looking to use as thin a bed of mortar as possible. Hopefully that'll still work with that ratio of sand/cement.
