I am going to build a raised patio off the back of my new extension. Height will be approx 1.3 mt. Surface area 4 x 2 mt. I am going to back fill and flag it. Will the structure need to be double skinned block and brick, or will I get away with single leaf brick?. I am going to put deck posts around the top with handrails an spindles.
Also for the back fill gonna use a mix of rubble, hard core, grit sand. Whack it down, with a top layer of dolomite to lay the slabs on, on a bed of cement.
Thoughts and ideas from the pro's gentlemen please.

Yes it will need to be double skin wall. It will need weep holes and you will need to fill against the wall with gravel.

Get it to 1.2m or below as any retaining wall above this should be designed

By 'it' do you mean the weep holes or gravel?
Cheers.

Both. The gravel helps drainage so that water doesn't rest against the wall.
I suppose though if your patio is going to make the area impermeable i.e no water will filter through to the backfill and sub-base, then maybe not so important.
