OK. I've revised original plans to use recycled materials such as flags and gravel on my drive doing most of the work myself. I've dug deep and have started to get quotes for block paving. I'm also considering Tarmac. This topic has probably been covered before. If so can someone point me in the right direction. Question is, what is best.? I understand tarmac is probably slightly cheaper. But I think visually it starts to look tatty after a couple of years. At least blocks can be cleaned up, 're sanded and sealed etc. Come on you pro's put your neck on the line. Tell me what you would go for every time and why. I'm doing the drive in 2 stages. First stage is 87 sq mt, 2nd is roughly the same. That will be done at a later stage.

True, however doesn't necessarily mean it's best. I'm swaying towards blocks at the moment, there is more of a choice given I have to look at it every day. Also practically in the long run its easier repaired if needed.

Aye your probably right. One option I never considered for this project was printed concrete. I have some concerns as I have seen colours fade, cracks down drives, concrete starting to crumble because the weather has got into it, and even when well maintained and resealed regularly potentially slippy.
Decided to go for 60mm Brett Beta blocks. Fortunately got a lot of contacts in the supply industry, and am paying a very reputable mate to do the work, been to see a few of his projects that have all stood the test of time, really good quality workmanship, neat and tidy with a good eye for finished detail. All in it's working out at £60 sq mt. I don't think you can get vexed at that.
