Granite setts - yet again - Bedding and pointing (or not)

Setts and cobbles, tarmac, asphalt, resin systems, concrete whether it's plain, patterned or stencilled, gravels, etc.

I am in the process of laying a new drive. (car and light end lorry occassionally)
The spec is granite setts as a finish. (approx 40m2)

I have layed 125 - 150 concrete and intend a 30 to 40mm cement mortar bed (*1:3) in which the setts will be bedded. On your previous advice I will go with Romex swert in for the pointing.

Is cement mortar ok as a bed, is there any preparation of the concrete required (other than clean and wetted up) eg a pva?
Note I have used a semi dry c25 concrete that has been wackered when placed

Thanks for your help-

I don't about anyone else here but I reckon you should be fine - I reckon I'd add the PVA to the guaging water instead of painting it on but that's just me. I've just laid granite setts to a driveway but bedded them straight into the wet concrete which was laid at 150mm on top of 125mm MOT. I pointed them with mortar and my back is bloody killing me now!

For a residential driveway, I wouldn't worry too much bout PV-bloody-A. If the concrete is moist, you'll get adequate bonding if the setts are pre-wetted: this prvents over-rapid drying of the concrete bedding/jointing and wasjhes off any dust that may have accumulated on the setts.
