Hi I recently had someone lay some slabs for my car to go on.
The base was Tarmac. The method they use was.
Used a sharp steel pole to dig out some of the Tarmac.
They put down sharp concrete sand until level.
Then mixed in by hand cement into the sand. Just Before laying each slab.
Once all completed guy told me to not put any weight on the slabs for at least for days.
Questions are.
How long approx would I need to wait so I can put my car on slabs is 4 days fine.
It's been raining everyday so bit worried if it's set.
I read 24 hours so to test I went out next day after they were fitted and try the corner slab to see if I could like it up and it came straight up.
Last question is is the cement they mixed into the sand is this just support to harden on the ground the slabs sit on, or is ithe cement suppose to stick the back of the slab to hold it down also?
I'm no builder so hoping someone can offer some advice.
