Hi. I am planning on laying some 20(calibrated)x 56 x random and 20 x 15 x random limestone stone to form the entrance to a garage and a covered "link" area between the house and garage. The smaller stones will be at the front of the garage and link in a 900 (6 off at 15) wide strip and the random 56cm laid in the link.
Currently there is about 150-200 of rubble and hardcore as a base and this will have a further 150 of concrete added.
Q1. As this will have cars/vans on does the concrete need to be reinforced and if so with steel mesh or would fibre within the (brought in pre-mix) be better? Also would you recommend a dpm be laid prior to pouring the concrete?
Q2. How long does the concrete need to set prior to laying the stone?
Q3. As this area will be driven over what is the best method to fix the stone to the concrete base?
Q4. What would your recommendation be for grouting this with?
Q5. If this was internal there would be a expansion/insulation foam laid around the perimeter. Would it be sensible to fit this against the wall either side of the link?
