Hi ive just removed my block paving on patio to replace with sandstone eventually! My question is regards the sand underneath the block paving can I use this for my mortar mix for the new flags. I think the sand is quarry waste type sharp sand, very yellow in colour, any idea if this is ok to use? Save buying new sand? Thanks

Yes, it should be fine. Scrape some up and make a small batch of mortar to see how easily worked it is and also how well it hardens.

if you don't need to walk over the paving the following day a 5:1 bedding mixture will be adequate
