Hi im planning to remove my patio block paving that have been down for 8 years and replace with bradstone smooth sandstone, dune colour. When i remove the old block paving there is possibly a 20 to 30mm layer of grit sand underneath, does anybody recommend i remove the sand before laying the new sandstone on a full bed of mortar? Any help much appreciated. . Oh the subbase looks ok, im doing around 30m2..

^^ yes the sand has to go
you could always reuse it if its clean by knocking it up with cement in the mixer
