Hi all just for reference what stone is the least porous or does it depend on where its quarried from I was thinking slate then the harder sandstone/limestone then granite ?

slate and granite are both used extensively on roofs pete so are generally very impermeable,I would say slate is the most

As Tony says, slate and granite are both very dense. Its also worth noting that the Indian quartzitic sandstones from the Kota belt are extremely hard
