Bending a footpath without making cuts

Patio flagstones (slabs), concrete flags, stone flags including yorkstone and imported flagstones.

Just wondering if this would look crap or not.

Doing a small 8 meter long footpath in a front garden. Just gonna use an 8:1 sand and cement bed on a membrane so using smaller stones. But not too small to avoid the need for tons of easy point. Not sure what yet.

Was wondering if I can get away with just bending the layout of it instead of making tons of cuts. Bottom line is she wanted slabs and nothing fancy. I'd rather work for less than do something crap so I spent her budget which is not nearly enough but at'll at least look nice. Could really do with avoiding the wastage and time on cutting the edges off.

What do you reckon?

as in flags touching corners at one side and walloping big joint at the other?....that will look crap

you could either taper cut the flags to suit the direction of the path leaving the straight fettled edges to the sides of the path or lay the flags straight (90 degs to the direction of foot traffic) past the line of the curve and cut the curve in-situ afterwards...i prefer the taper cut mesel!

Yeah you're right it would look shit.

Taper cut... you mean rotate the flag to fit in the curve and then mark it and cut it accordingly.?

That sounds like the best option to avoid wastage but also leaving not small off cuts near the edge as this wont have mortared edging which worries me on a sand and cement bed.

yea, i personally lay a few out dry first just to get an idea, usually if the curve is even then its the same cut on each side of all the flags.....ie...1inch to nothing.
