Is my base suitable?

After reading several articles on this site I am still uncertain whether the base I am preparing for my patio is suitable, especially now I have learnt about a different, and possibly easier method (Thin Bed Adhesive) of laying my vitrified paving. I have almost prepared my site (40m2) based on 75mm for the sub base, 30mm for wet mortar and 20mm for the slabs due to the sub grade being heavy clay. I am now wondering whether I can omit the sub base and lay a 100mm concrete base instead. Having read sub base articles this would appear acceptable but the 'laying porcelain, ceramic and vitrified paving' article suggests otherwise. Any advice or guidance would be very much appreciated.
