Hi all
We often get asked for a sealer to darken Granite
For example to change the colour of G654 (Graphite as it is sometimes referred to) from a grey into more of a black.
We currently have nothing in our range to offer people.
Does anybody know (Roger??) of a decent product to achieve this without looking too glossy..
thanks
Dan

Hello Dan
Hope all is well in Staffs
Its interesting that you are getting lots of requests to enhance the colour of the stone. Black limestone aside we are finding that people generally are keen to keep the original colour of the stone.
Why not contact a few of the manafacturers and carry out some tests on the stone with different sealants/impregnators. You could then find the one that gives the desired look.
My advice would be to steer well clear of topical sealants. These are sealants that sit on the surface of the stone. Topical sealants dont allow the stone to breathe and can cause all sorts of problems with trapped moisture.
Dry Treat enhance plus & Lithofin Stainstop plus would be the two I would recommend but I know that Roger uses different ones

Hi Steve, thanks for the reply, all good here thanks..had a manic season as i'm sure you have. The only paving we keep getting asked for in terms of enhancing is the Granite, inparticular the G654. We have plenty of invisible sealers available for sandstone/limestone/slate but always struggled with Granite for some reason.
and many thanks Roger... i'll look into this
