Hi guys, any of you use LTP colour enhancing sealer on exterior sandstone?
I have tons of the stuff and regularly use it on indoor work.
They say it's for both indoor and outdoor but the rainbow sandstone I plan to lay is terribly porous and from what I read greens up ever so quick.
Wanted to use this as I want the colours to be darker and more prominent like when they are wet.
Not so sure on the glossy sealers as I want it to penetrative the stone and not sit on top.
Any users or suggestions of alternatives?

I have used LTP sealer on sandstone and it works but is at the budget end of the market
lithofin MN stainstop is pretty good as is dry treat
I would consider drying and sealing your flags before you lay them

Litho thin and ltp are closely priced I thought?
Dry treat looks good but really want to deepen the colour as it's quite light and dusty looking when dry.
Filled another 8 yard skip today that's no3. Be ordering in the type 1 this week and hope to start laying the following week

Can anyone recommend a really good sealer for super porous natural sandstone. Needs to be colour enhancing.
Ideally I want the deep colours obtained when the slabs are wet but with no shine the the wet look gloss sealers leave.

what you are asking for is a contradiction in terms mate
all a decent sealer (lithofin,drytreat ) does is stop heavy staining

to get that brochure wet look you need a surface sealer
which I hate with a vengeance so cannot recommend

Hi mate, a plo goes for my ignorance here.
Am testing the ltp colour intensifier sealer on some breakages at th moment, to see how it looks.
Basically the stone is really pale when dry but when wet the colours are more to my liking.
I don't want the glossy wet look I see everywhere, after a matt finish that is a little deeper/darker in colour.
I see dry treat also do one like this so looking for reviews on it.
Why do u dislike these sealers so much?

because they are shite!
until recent times stone was never sealed
I have used dry treat and lithofin (matt look) but they are not the be all and end all
you still need to clean the patio

Love you're honesty above mate.
I've just applied the 2nd coat of ltp colour intensifier sealer, not so good. On application looks just as I want it however 20 mins later it's all drawn in and stone looks exactly as it did prior to sealing.
Will try 1 more coat tmrw.
Mainly wet to seal to help keep them a bit cleaner and free of algae and Moss as they are so porous. I'll be cleaning it a lot

Can't seem to open the photos?
BTW you are not really going to get the fake wet look with an impregnating sealer, as said above you need an acrylic surface sealer which you should avoid at all costs, as they are shite.

You get depth of colour with a good colour enhancing impregnating sealer, brands we use are Aqua-Mix or Miracle.

Sorry been trying to upload from photo bucket but can't suss out the best way to show photo and not link.
To be fair on the ltp enhancing sealer it beads water as good as the quartz coating I have on my car.
But again when sealed I'm never going to get the dark look I'm craving.
Massive dilemma here and a bit gutted
