Hi guys,

I was hoping someone had some advise on how to achieve a long lasting colour for mortar???

Just finished laying a black limestone patio and wanted a dark grey joint.

Initially I was planning on using weather point 365 but after some research it seems that the service life is not what I expected!

I'm now going to stick with mortar but need it to keep its colour.

In the past all colour agents I have used have faded massively/completely!!!!!

I plan to seal the limestone with romex colour enhancer first to keep the stone dark.

Does anyone know of a pigment that will not fade?

I thought maybe an sbr mortar with pigment might work, but that's my best guess.

Any advise would be massively appreciated!!!!

Cheers David

Hi David, have you looked at the Gftk range, the basalt colour looked pretty dark to me, I went for the stone colour with my black basalt. From my research it has got rave reviews, apart from the price!

Weather point is a really good product.
Dark kiln dried sand when used to make mortar dries very dark.
