I intend to lay granite setts on cement mortar bed which is on a prepared 125 mmm concrete sub base C25.
I want a soft V joint in the mortar pointing and I want to keep the finished face of the grantite clean.

What is the best way of achieveing this?
To achieve the best colour consistancy I was intending to point the to 50mm at the end

Take your time and clean any spills as you go. :)

Or use one of the epoxy slurry jointing systems that guarantee a clean finish.

A cement slurry jointing method is fine if you have the right cleaning equipment, but it's not the sort of kit available to most DIYers.

you must have a lot of time, or money .
this birds beak pointing takes ages and is a back breaker
i would go for epoxy mortar cftk or romex take about 30 minutes to do 10 M2 this way
other wise you just need knee pads and a lot of time and patience,if you get the mix right you might do 10 M2 a day
needs to be stiff and strong
cheers LLL :)
