I see on the site that is states that 50mm is max for bedding depth. however on the flag laying page (http://www.pavingexpert.com/layflag3.htm) it appears to show a lean mix (6 parts 10mm gravel, 3 parts grit sand, 1 part cement) being OK for 100mm depth.

Some how (let's just call it incompetence) I've ended up with a sub base 10mm to low. Max bedding would need to be 60mm the larger flags are the thinnest. Should I:
a) fill out my sub base to an extra 10mm -I'd rather not due to the limited amount of DTP1 I'd need and the extra compactor hire.
b) Use the lean mix with gravel to cope with the deeper layer
c) just use medium mix it's only a patio and hope the 60mm will be OK.

Many thanks for your thoughts.

I'd top up with millwaste and compact to leave 40mm bedding layer.
