Asphalt? - Is asphalt the best option?

Setts and cobbles, tarmac, asphalt, resin systems, concrete whether it's plain, patterned or stencilled, gravels, etc.

I Have had a quote 0f £12500.00 for approx 1000sq metres of HRA to be done at my home. (250m x 4 m wide average of 60mm deep with 80mm where it will be liable to more wear. 75 lin m of it will be new top coat of 40mm over existing asphalt.) Does this sound reasonable? The contractor who is the cheapest is my local council! Thoughts please.

Sounds fair to me, and at least with the council, you know they won't hitch up their caravans and disappear overnight!
