Hi All,

I am looking for somewhere to source some sand suitable for bedding light limestone pavers. Really this wants to be silver sand to avoid the risk of staining, but I can only find fine silver sands more like building sand than sharp sand, sharp silver sand seems to be contradiction.

Does anyone know any good sources of suitable sand?

[And that will deliver to London.]

What type of limestone paving are you laying? In my experience its only Portland Stone that needs to be laid on silver sand.

Let me know and i should be able to properly advise you

Thanks, I was looking at Morisca Cream Limestone sold by one of your competitors at the moment. (http://www.rock-unique.com/paving_-_sec ... 1_239.html)

Just trying to cost these things up at the moment before having a final look round both you and them tomorrow morning to make a decision...

I guess there are two other points;

When is white cement necessary in the bedding?
Is sliver sand and white cement suitable for pointing?

I dont have any experience of this stone but Rock unique are a reputable supplier so you should have no worries.

Have rock unique advised that you lay with silver sand and white cement or is this something you have researched for your self?

We only use white ceement on Portland stone
Silver sand and white cement is suitable for pointing
