Been asked to repoint 100m2 of Indian Raj stone flags, as previous sand/cement mortar failed. Customer not keen on sand/cement as that has failed in the past, they are interested in resin type mortar option.
Currently joint depth that has been raked out is 10mm - 15mm. Joint width approx 15mm (varies from 10mm-20mm)

has the pointing failed because the slabs/flags are moving?
imho easipoint is the best finish around but that is sand and cement premixed and gunned in
but you need dry weather
of the others marshalls weatherpoint 365 gets good feedback as an entry level polymeric
gftk vdw 850 is a notch above as a 2 part resin
but obviously costs more

If the flags are sound and not rocking then I would do what the customer prefers. I have not used the resin based stuff myself but have been told it is quick, easy and effective. Look on "You Tube." Establish that the flags are sound, if not, fix them, a job in itself. Tell the client that the resin based is more expensive but the pay-off is that it's quicker thus saving labour costs. You might have to buy some new tools for the job. factor this in. Regards.
