We had an Indian sandstone patio installed about 18 months ago. However, it looks quite pale, particularly in the sun, and also has a few patches on it where bits of oily substances have been spilled.
So, am thinking of sealing it so that it protects against oil and enhances the colour. I don't want it shiny or too dark / wet look, but do want the colours to be enhanced - at the moment it looks best straight after it dries after rain! Please could someone recommend an appropriate sealant which is not too expensive?

If you are looking to enhance the colour I would be using Drytreat enhance plus or lithofin colour intensifier. Neither products are the cheapest but in my experience perform better than anything else. Whatever you go for, make sure its an impregnator. Impregnators operate just under the surface of the stone, unlike sealants which sit on top of the stone surface.

Those are a bit expensive but found LTP Colour Intensifier and Stainblock (5l for £70 on eBay) - does that work well?

my tiler used the LTP stuff recently and it seems ok so far on natural stone
however, chances are it is half the price of the others for a reason
i.e. half as much sealant
so to answer your question ,yes it works
but you get what you pay for

Like Luton says its cheaper for a reason. The sealants you mention will start to deteriorate and break down within a couple of years. You will then need to seal them again. Although they seem much cheaper, it actually a false economy

With Lithofin - presumably after using MS Colour intensifier I would then need to use MS Stain Stop to make it oil repellant? The MS Stain Stop Plus incorporates a colour intensifier and oil repellent- have you had any experience of this product?

MN Stain Stop Plus is lithofins best product IMO. It costs a bit more but worth every penny

Yes used this a lot, well worth the money.
As said before you get what you pay for.
