Hi,
So yesterday I laid a circle kit onto a screeded bed and must say it all went spiffingly well - dead chuffed with the result so far.
Today I'm going to fill in the rest of the area around the circle.
But here's a quick question: I've got loads of bedding mix left over both from the screeding process and from allowing liberal extra in the "corners" left by the circle. It looks and feels much like it did upon initial mixing, but can I still use it today, or has it gone off and I need to chuck it? Can it be reactivated with a sprinkle of magic water or something?
Probably a daft question - my gut says certainly don't try and use it. I'll chuck it unless someone here reckons I can use it today.
BTW it's not the cost that bothers me but the waste really.

False alarm: checking afresh this morning it's clearly not the same consistency as yesterday evening - definitely won't re-use!
(Would have deleted my original post if I could work out how)

if its been mixed yesterday with water then today its no good I would say...
any pictures of your job it sounds quite nice

are you using a dry mix?

Only thing it's good for is chucking on top of the mot and whacking in

Sorry for the confusion - the bedding under the flags was indeed rock solid in the morning, as expected - so no problem with mix (which BTW is a "moist" mix).
I think I reserved all the spare stuff maybe 2 hours after mixing it and expected it to have "changed" in that time but I guess that's not long enough to see much difference. (I'm used to gypsum plaster and rapid-set tile adhesive where everything's kind of against the clock!)
Because I hadn't compacted the spare mix, in the morning it had quite a satisfying loose crumbly texture which was easy enough to shovel into a few rubble bags. I can see how it would work for topping up the MOT, groundworks - maybe I'll do that next time I get some left over.
I laid maybe 250 setts today which is much more satisfying because you can just keep going until you've used up all your mix - very little wastage!
P.S. I'm completely knackered.

There was actually one fairly embarrassing titsup (every project needs one).
It involves the staggering of the setts, the fact that the circle takes up nearly the entire width, and that I laid only whole setts first...I'm sure you can guess from those clues.
I only needed to rip up maybe 12 setts by the time I realized my mistake.
