Hi all,

I have recently cleaned my patio and Iâ€™m wanting some advice on the best type of grout and sealer to use. There isnâ€™t many parts of the jointing to replace, so cost isnâ€™t an issue with the grout. I did read the section about sealer and would like a long lasting penetrating sealer that doesnâ€™t need re doing every 12-18 months, so Iâ€™m willing to spend a bit more. There are so many out there that claim to do this and that, which one would be a good recommendation? I am not bothered about wet look or adding any type of effect to the flags. The patio flags are concrete cast sandstone look flags.

If cost isn't an issue then it doesn't get any better than GTFK If you weren't wanting to spend as much as that then you could try Marshall's weatherpoint 365 - should be able to pick up the 365 from any local builders merchants.

For a sealer try Dry treat

Hi , instead of creating a new topic I guess it is better just to ad to this one.

I am doing a path with granit stones and i am leaving quite large gaps ( about 10-15mm). I read on your site that the best option is to use tick tar to seal the stones. What is the next best option?

Also , would Bitumen Slurry Seal also do the job? I am not very keen on melting bitumen and playing with hot substance

are you talking about jointing?
3:1 grit sand and cement will be fine for granite cubes
i wouldnt use any kind of tar product

that is a great product that can be injected into joints,however at Â£30+ a bag its going to cost a few quid to do setts
the choice is yours
