Hi

First off I'm a complete novice in this field so please expect to come across some exasperating questions. I'm hoping to be laying a patio in my back garden c.20 sqm. I've read through the main body of the website (astounding) and feel fairly confident about tackling what lies ahead.

I do try my hardest to do research to find answers but sometimes it draws a blank. With that in mind I was wondering if any of the members had heard of a product called Cleadon Stone? A company in my area is selling it at an attractive price for what they claim it is but I haven't been able to find any mention of it on here. Here's a link to the product/company:

reclamation supplies

I'd really appreciate any input on the viability of this product.

Many thanks in advance

Go and have a look at the stone first hand and see what you think would be my advice as every supplier calls the same stone a different name bar the Chinese who use serial numbers.

to my eye that looks like kandla grey indian sandstone
calling it cleadon (an area on tyne and wear) is a bit of a misrepresentation of the facts
the crates give the game away plus the thickness of the stone
if they are looking for more than £20 a metre dont go there

Its kota indian sandstone, so it could could be kandla grey, raj green or Autumn Brown. There is nothing wrong with it but the supplier is being disingenuous by saying that it will look like Yorkstone.

This used to be a common sales pitch by suppliers when Indian stone first burst onto the scene, but to hear it being said in 2013 is a joke
