I have been asked to pressure clean a swimming pool surround at a large house where the surround has been left without any proper maintenance or cleaning for some years - the pool has been unused and where a cover has been over the white edging (concrete) and some of the york stone surround it is very good and clean, elsewhere it is dirty and degraded and some pointing has blown - it is basicly sound except for one corner where about 8-10 edging stones and less than 20 flags need re-bedding but only one flag is broken - I know someone reliable who will do this work.
Anyone got any useful advice as to what to look for in terms of pitfalls and problems with a job like this and any suggestions for an epoxy solution to the pointing issues. Given that a proportion of the edging stones have failed mortar joints would it be advisable to get the whole of the edging re-bedded to avoid later problems - we clean alot of patios, paths etc but this is somewhat more complex - would appreciate some constructive input - thanks
