Hi,
We currently have a fair amount of large gravel (20mm I think) around the lawn in our garden. I am planning a patio and wondered if there was any way I could use this as base under the patio, or is that gravel too large? My thoughts were a base of this gravel, then a good layer of sand over that, then lay the patio onto mortar on top of the sand. Would that work at all?
Thanks,
Simon

Thats brilliant. Exactly what I need!
It also confirms what I always thought about the 5 blobs of mortar. I never ever understood why anyone would do that, but having seen it many times on TV etc.. I just thought that they must know what they are doing. Glad to see it's not the recommended way.
Thank you.
