We had an Indian Sandstone patio laid 4 years ago. Ever since then we have had problems with the pointing coming loose.
It wasn't until a neighbour had a patio laid in the same stone recently that we realised that the problem was caused by the slabs being laid upside-down!
We quite liked the look of the patio when it was laid, but having seen one laid properly, we are very dissatified.
Does anyone know if we are likely to have any comeback from the builder who laid the patio?

4 years on and you want a refund?
you can ring him but he will say you agreed to it at the time,or he laid it under your directions

I had a customer telling me to lay them upside down "because you can get more grout in"

Laying Indian sandstone upside down is a common occurence and is usually done by people with not much experience in natural stone. Its very unlikely that you will have any recourse with the contractor after 4 years. Apart from the pointing are there are any other problems with the patio? The reason I ask is because loose pointing can often be a symptom of loose slabs?
