Recently had some indian sandstone paving laid, after some initial issues the job was done, i was happy and i paid the bill.
A few days after paying i noticed that one of the slabs was loose and rocked slightly when you walked on it, i spoke to the guy who laid it over the phone and he said that he'd sort it - lift the flag and put some mastic (?) under it.
Couple of weeks have passed and its still to sort, i've since noticed another 4 slabs have came loose ! I haven't spoke to the guy again, but i'm not feeling overly confident about the rest of the slabs, they've only been down a month and 5 have came loose !
Is it common to find that a few come loose ? and to stick they back down with mastic ?

Cheers

not good at all
mastic is for sealing windows not laying flags
have you a picture of the offending patio?

occasionally you get one loose, it gets lifted and relaid though.

I wasn't overly convinced when he said what he was gonna do, to be honest, i'm not a paver tho.
Theres 4 that are loose and a couple that sound hollow if you tap them ... i hate to think what its gonna be like in a few year !
The guy who done it has been doing it for about 15+ years, hes been recomended by friends and seems to have made a decent job of theirs ... still doesn't make mine any better tho !

A few pics ...

looks nice and level, good detail around the manhole, and yes, four slabs coming together.
How did he point the paving? this would have a bearing on things

No idea on the pointing ? I was at work while he was doing it so only saw the progress at the end of each day.
I was happy with the way it turned out initialy ... i'm starting to have other ideas now tho.
