I know its got a bad name but it was very cheap, left in crates outside so uneven discolouring has taken place, I have seen pictures were enhancer has been used and a pretty good recovery is achieved,
can I ask for some recommendation's please? I am near Warrington so if any one knows a good product with local supplier that would be cool

This page isn't quite ready for full publication, but you could have a sneaky look...

my 20.7m pack ( 22m2 after i had a few words with my supplier) of black limestone seems fine, fairly even, with some iron/fools gold deposits present. only issue i had was with one of the big flags, 10mm fall over the 600mm seemed too much. changed without question.
I'll be sealing mine as soon as they are pointed, im thinking lime, supplier was trying to flog me geocrap fix.....

Links for close up photos don't work. Good to see tests done comparing the various products instead of just anecdotal evidence.

Good article, very interesting stuff. Just out of interest why did LTP pull out?
Also drytreat wasnt included which is one of the best out there. We are currently doing some testing on our display with dry treat enhance so I will let you know the results

LTP was 'banned' by the client after she saw the big "dangerous to aquatic life" sign on the tin. I'm fairly certain some of the other products are equally iffy when it comes to pond life, but she didn't want us to use the LTP anywhere on her site, so that meant withdrawing it from the trials and deleting it from the list of potentials for when we eventually carry out the sealing work.
DryTreat was considered initially, but I couldn't get a reply from my contact and the tiny bit of stuff I had left in a bottle in the shed had no discernible effect on a sett when I tried it at home. Now, whether this was because the stuff was old/cured/contaminated/summat else is unsure, but with 14 products already on test, and dozens of others already excluded, it wasn't a major concern that DryTreat missed out.
I'm really keen to repeat this exercise with some imported sandstones, native sandstones and a few granites over the course of this summer. If anyone has suggestions for what should or shouldn't be included, please let me know.
As for the broken links, I did warn that the page wasn't quite finished, but I've fixed those links now, so they should work. I'm just waiting for photies of untreated, unfaded black limestone to arrive. Understandably, most of the suppliers are reluctant to have their stone shown on a page like that, so I'm hoping one particular company will provide me with 'anonymous' images later this week.

I know it was unfinished, was just making sure you knew about the broken links
Only suggestion I can think of is perhaps include a budget sealant in your comparison? like the hated thompsons

Dry treat offer a 15 year guarantee if installed by a registered installer (obviously you'll be doing it yourself but its not rocket science and it shows great confidence in the product). We have been using it for a while now and it even stops efforessence coming through.
