Hello

I laid a patio at the weekend, I've since managed to confuse myself and I'm now not sure if I have a problem.

On top of a thick compacted subbase of crushed brick etc, I then laid a 5cm thick screed bed of 5 parts sharp sand to 1 part cement, I then laid the 450x450 slabs on top, everything is nice and flat and looks nice, however due to a few rain storms over the past week I have yet to have chance to point/grout.

My question concern is, should the slabs still be moveable, did I misunderstand the cement part of the screed, I was under the impression that would have (stuck) for a better word to the slabs and everything would be solid.

Any help greatly appreciated

Depends on how wet you made the mix and how well you tapped them down.
If you have left 8-12mm pointing gap and the slabs are only moving laterally then you won't have any problems, the pointing will hold them together. You need to relay them if they are wobbling up and down though.

Personally i wouldnt bother pointing them if they move, it'll only fail at a later date. But sounds like your mix was too dry
