Garden path suitable for wheelchairs - Urgent advice

What a fabulous site !! but Im still a bit if a divi and need help
Trying to build path around large 'ish peice of land within school environment for wild garden -( all amatures (fools??) and volunteers. Have foundations dug approx 8" deep x 39" width 293' length but need to construct path that is (a) cheap (b) natural and/or aesthetically pleasing © hardwareing (kids !!) (d) suitable for wheelchairs and people with physical challenges.
Gravel edged boards for sides but is 4" DTp1 and 2" of hoggin straight on top sufficient and reasonable ?? Wud 4" subbase + 2" sand grit then 2" hoggin (more expensive althernative) be best or OTT - would appreciate any advice or suggestions

If you went for the option of laying Ronadeck Fast Grip you would have to lay it on to a properly constructed Sub-base.

Hoggin: nasty, nasty stuff. As I say on the main website, it's only used in SE England and it's only used there because there's buggerall else in the way of cheap, self-binding aggregate.

However, if you must use hoggin, then keep it to 35-40mm, laid over 100mm of a type 1 sub-base. Forget the sand laying course: that would just hasten the inevitable demise of an already iffy surface.
