Basically got 3 whopping cement stains on some textured buff flags. They are properly ingrained. they have been festering underneath a tarp for days without my knowledge.

Tried scrubbing..nothing. didn't budge. They are dark too. The flags are right in the middle of the patio as well so I really want to not have to remove the stones.

I took a stained offcut home. Used Jewson brick and patio cleaner on it. No luck whatsoever. Didn't seem to take the surface off the stone though nor the stain itself!

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I'm in the shit again!

long term remove the affected slabs and relay
you can buy the good shit from swimming pool supply stores (hydrochloric acid 32%) but it will affect the colour of the slabs
lift and relay

im with tony on this one if you have just laid them take them up and replace,

i have had probs with oil on my sandstone and used some stuff but by the time you shell out for it you may as well replace the stones.

good luck simon

God damn I hate it when you're right :)

They gotta come up! I haven't had a chance yet cos there is so much going on. It'll have to be monday. They are stuck fast too, right in the middle of the damn patio all butted up to one another. I'm guessing just smash them to bits and then chisel them up?

Feck, shit, bollocks, wank :(

I'm really going off patios, might stick to fencing, peice of piss to quote and can be done with one hand scratching ones balls, not to mention my back is fecked due to no digger access again. 3rd one in a row!

yea, just be careful you dont smash neighboring flags to bits too!

3 in a row?, i bet if you really tried you could somehow squeeze a digger in somehow ie: demolish shed, cut down tree, remove gate post etc and dig off a 20m patio :D i would haha.

One of them I could of if I took some decking apart and I was kicking myself when I realised this after the fact, the other 2 no way.

I'll just air lift the damn thing in next time and put it on the bill! I'm done in. The upside is I'm ripped and I don't go to the gym :)
