Good afternoon.

I'm halfway through laying flags to create a path to my shed after digging out and breaking up the old 'crazy paving'.

Anyway, questions for today are: can I continue to mix up mortar and lay the flags whilst it's raining?

And do I need to cover the path overnight to stop rain getting on it?

I suppose what I'm asking is, does the rainwater weaken the mortar to the extent that the paving will fail?

Sorry if these are stupid questions - just worried about spending hours in the rain working then watching the whole thing collapse a few days later!

Thanks for any replies :)

drizzle or the odd shower is ok, but torrential rain will wash the cement and if there is enough of it the mortar from your mix
judgement call mate

I've just bought a draper gazebo from Amazon as a week long job took three to complete because of the rain we've been getting.

You can buy a 15m2 tarpaulin from screwfix for about £15 if the rain really worries you.

If we was designed to work in rain, we would all have a sprinkler tied over our heads keeping us wet 24hr
