I was after some recommendation for the best reproduction paving slabs can't find too many i like on the web, anyone know of the nicest ones, don't really want to pay more than £40sqm

i am and always have been a big fan of millstone by stonemarket
especially in olde london colour

Why buy the repro stuff when the real thing costs less and doesn't look c#ap in 5 years time. £30-40m2 is a will buy you some lovely medium to high end stone.

I have just got a job replacing bradstone milldale in the cotswold colour, about 45m/sq. It was laid as part of a major terracing and landscaping of a large garden but 8 years on has almost no colour left and is a sea of grey.
I fully agree with pablo. The bradstone is stupidly dear and you could get quality honed or sawn stone for similar or very little more money.
Anyone got any good experience with acheson glover terrapave ground flags?

Sorry to be misleading, My name is Tom, I work for Westminster stone who also make reproduction paving, I was just trying to gauge products the public liked and didn't think I would get any response if I said who I was right off the bat, I didn't realise that you weren't allowed to do research like this on forums, until emailed by Tony (the owner of the site) to say you have to reveal yourself or I will, so that is what i'm doing. no worries tom,we have lots of manufacturers on here but they have to be upfront about what they do and if they give advice it has to be impartial 
it would have been a bit easier if you had not got the email that includes the company after your name :;):
there is still a market for repro flags but due to the price of imported natural stone being so low it has to be either/really good or / really cheap
for the general public to want it
for £40 a metre i would want summat really special

Terrapave ground are very very good flags with virtually zero tollerance in the sizes of them so they go down really easily. I like the Milano and Florento the best and they cost about £28m2+vat from Haldanes in Bangor but you'll get a better price if you go direct and phone their despatch in Toome.

My merchant have started doing acheson stuff and are selling them around 23+vat so i think they will be starting to make an appearance in my projects. Seem very nice.
Do you know of anyone in NI doing sawn sandstone, i'm looking for something smooth in fossil mint or similar lighter colours.

CED in omagh do it but getting it from Steve at London Stone has proved cheaper for me even when the delivery charge is added. Sawn paving goes green quicker than riven stuf so mint would be a no no in my opinion. Which Merchant do you use.

Mostly Bangor supply, i'm based in holywood and have always found them pretty good.
The job i mentioned above is replacing bradstone old town stuff that 10 years on is grey and awful looking, she wants to replace it with the bradstone old town sorrento flags but i am telling her that she will be doing it again in another 10 years.
The bradstone is coming in around 26.50+vat so i am trying to source her a few options of good stone for similar or a little more money. Its only 45m
She has her hearth set on a bright buff colour such as the sorrento stuff and its a bit shady so wanted something smoother than riven indian stone which would fit the bill colour wise.
The terrapave flags are good but just too yellow and a little too contemporary. Ideas welcome

Sawn stone will be way over that budget you could try Kilsaran they do a decent 4 size semi traditional flag pack with granite flek and varipous levels of finish from bush hammered to shot or sand blasted. Or try some quartzite from McMonagle.
