Layed this patio last weekend and have to point it all on Saturday. Had originally quoted to use my preferred method of sand and cement 3:1 mix but the customer has now asked for a buff colour finish. I have used Easyjoint before and wasnt over pleased with the results never used dyes and only ever used a polymeric sand once on a small path looked ok on completion. but I'll probably be back here in the summer and don't want the embarrassment of a failed job The paving is from bradstone. Any advice would be welcomed thanks in advance.

to obtain a buff finish,maybe use white cement and/or lime in the mix
adding dyes in a total nightmare and will ruin that lovely patio
i would use easipoint as to do that 40m2 (??) would cost £125 but it would be done in a day by 2 fellas

mornin Mr pink can your local mortar plant do dyed stuff you would have to buy a tub but it'll still be cheaper than easypoint and poly. A lot of fella's on here rate easypoint very highly but even the top brand of brush in poly is getting poor reviews. Tbh that paving needs a grey mortar for contrast if you used buff pointing then it'll be very same same and bland looking. Who Burt then fence I Hope it's not coming out of their wages lol.

ohh yeah forgot polymerics are pish
i disagree pablo ,hate to see grey pointing on anything except grey flags
lime will lighten the pointing for sure,but weather it will flow through the gun i dont know

Thanks fellas, just looked at the forecast for this weekend and it looks like rain so I've opted to use easy joint buff/sand colour as this can be installed in bad weather used the basalt one before for a builder we work for here's the pic I'll post another when finished thanks

cracking installation but that polymeric dont look buff?
beware polymerics mate even the good ones fail after a while
