Welsh Chris - if you haven't found it already, Gold Leaf sandstone is available from Global Stone. According to their website its 22mm calibrated and only available in a project pack comprising different sizes. Our local stockist (a builders merchants in Essex) will split project packs of certain types (not sure about Gold Leaf) but obviously you pay a premium over the normal cost for individual pieces. Worth seeing if a local stockist will oblige in your patch.

We used to supply gold leaf. It was really popular a few years ago but for reasons not known its died a death for us in the last couple of years. We discontinued it and cleared the last of our stock on ebay a couple of weeks ago.
Might be worth trying bridge st stone

we always keep good stocks of gold leaf, we can sell you any sizes in 560 series, you do not have to buy full crates, you are quite welcombe to visit us to collect, if it helps we do deliver with our own trucks with crane offload all over the uk.
