Hi,

We have Stoneflair Granite paving slabs (Graphite, 600x600) laid in our garden.

We would like the darker grey wet look colour and so I applied Lithofin MN Colour Intensifier as a test on some spare slabs.

The colour is now much darker and what were hoping to achieve.

However the Lithofin also acts as a water repellent and so after rain there are small pools of water on the slab for a day or two after rain, whereas on the untreated slabs they dry out within hours.

I imagine that in the colder weather, the small pools of water will struggle to evaporate and so the slabs will regularly have water sat on the surface.

I wonder if any product exists that can give the wet look without the water repellant property, so avoiding the water sat on top of the stone for long periods during colder weather ?

I would be very grateful for any suggestions or advice.

Thanks,

Steve

Hi Steve

You've got a good name. The whole point of the sealant is to prevent water from getting into the stone. Even the impreganting sealants allow the stone to breathe while preventing the water from getting in. You may have to live with this
